A current and full motor vehicle driver's licence is required. If the driver's licence is not in the English language then an international driver's licence is also recommended. An accredited English translation will be accepted in lieu of an international driving permit.

The driver's licence must have been held for at least two years and be valid for the whole length of the rental. The original driver's licence must be shown at the time of pick-up when the driver is present.

Drivers must be 21 years of age or over. For drivers 75 years of age or over, a current medical certificate stating that the customer is fit to drive for the duration of the hire is required upon vehicle pick-up.

Cheapa Campa supplies a complimentary Welcome Pack for your first night. The pack contains matches, dishwashing liquid, sponge, salt and pepper, coffee, tea and sugar sachets. Vehicles are also provided with complimentary maps, camp ground guides and the Apollo Motorhome Holidays Magazine.

We strongly recommend you bring soft bags instead of suitcases for your luggage. Soft bags take up less room and fit more easily into the storage cupboards and lockers in the vehicle. Luggage storage is also available at all motorhome branches for return hires only.

The minimum rental period for all campervans and motorhomes is 7 days. Increased minimum rental periods apply at peak times. Shorter rentals are available at special rates.

All Cheapa Campa hires require a bond at the point of vehicle pick up. The base bond payment is $5000 which can be reduced to as little as $250 depending on the Liability Reduction Option that the customer selects. Vehicle pick up times can vary but allow for at least an hour to complete the whole procedure. This is an important time for you to become familiar with the vehicle and includes the check-in, a vehicle inspection report and a vehicle show through to demonstrate the features of the vehicle and how to get the most out of your self-drive holiday.
